Archview Campground
ARCHVIEW CAMPGROUND, 10 miles north of Moab, Utah.---- I first set up 2 unpainted Tipis here in the spring of 2000. They were in the campground, and used for camping, not just for a tourist attraction. That year they had a windy day with 50 mile an hour sustained winds, and 80 mile an hour gusts. Part of the metal roof on the Store was blown off but the Tipis were still standing.
In the spring of 2004 I set up two painted Tipis next to the store and gas pumps as a tourist attraction . The first photos are of the Lizard Tipi and Eclipse Tipi. They replaced the older Tipis and were set up in the spring of 2012. Some of the artwork on these Tipis is from Indian symbols and rock art from the local area. The older Tipis were up for 8 years, and finally started coming apart at the seams. The owners say thousands of people have posed for a photograph in front of these Tipis.
