Pritchet Canyon
Pritchet Canyon near Moab, Utah, was Moab Outback's first business location. I leased the adobe building and campgrounds in late winter of 2000. I had to level and gravel the area across Kane Creek rd. by the Colorado River where I was to develop a new camping area with running water and and bathrooms. I hired Page Holland to paint the first Tipis. She painted all the Tipis you see in this photo gallery in the adobe building. I wanted the camp to have a colorful and lighthearted look. The tourists loved the camp. Some people thought it was a set for a movie and stopped by to take a look.
I set up Tipis at Pritchet Canyon , first on the bench by the adobe building, and then across the road by the Colorado River, after I had finished building two access roads into the river bottom, and graveled a road thru the Campground.
The next camp I set up was at Crawford Lake, Colorado on my own land in the summer of 2001. (See the Crawford Lake gallery)
The photos show the progression the camp took.
